WuffIT
The WuffIT Team

In May 2009, Dr. Alison Brown, CEO of Navsys Corporation, and Dr. Bruce Johnson, Director of GPS/INS Products at Navsys, started WuffIT in cooperation with the Bachelor of Innovation (BI) program at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs under Dr. Terrance Boult. With the help of a team of BI students, WuffIT quickly released a mobile application that allowed pet owners to keep tabs on their pets' whereabouts from the comfort of their own phone.

In the ensuing years, Matthew London, WuffIT's Lead Engineer, and Jacob Caban-Tomski led the development of improvements to the original WuffIT Tracker and spearheaded the effort to completely redesign the tracking infrastructure into the model that supports WuffIT's current product offerings. WuffIT also diversified into the hardware space, adding Josh Burns, a UCCS BI student in the Electrical Engineering track.

In Spring 2011, WuffIT added Brian Parks, a Ph.D. student in Dr. Boult's lab, and Sara Cap, a BI Business Administration student, to the ranks as Project Manager and Business Manager, respectively, bringing a renewed enthusiasm and a new set of perspectives to the WuffIT project. The current WuffIT team is exactly that: a tight-knit group of UCCS students from various backgrounds with a wide variety of skills that have come together to make WuffIT a success.
